I have been to J&C about 6 or 7 times - the food is always good. The owners are so nice and remembers us when we come in. I'm not sure if it's due to location or lack of advertising but the restaurant is never crowded despite visiting on Friday and Saturday nights.
My favorite dishes so far: headless shrimp bucket with sausage, potatoes and corn or the grilled jumbo shrimp basket with coleslaw and hush puppies. Please give this place a chance, I'd hate to see it close. -

After seeing a full parking lot on a Friday night I had high hopes for trying this restaurant, but this will be a mixed review.
The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly.
I started with a cup of clam chowder and it was straight from a can. Nothing home made about it.
I love a good catfish Po Bo but after the soup I was nervous. To my surprise, it was one of the better Po Bo's I had had. The fish was cooked well but it was the bread that blew me away. The bread was hot soft and really made the sandwich.
Fries were really good.
Overall, it was a good experience. They have lunch specials everyday that might be worth a try, but I wouldn't order the soup again. Instead, I'll just pick up a can of Chunky's. -

First off this place is dead at lunch. There were maybe 2 cars in the parking lot but i saw no one at the tables so i assume they were employees. I actually thought they were closed but i had called in my order 10 minutes before hand so i knew that couldn't be it. A waitress/host came up to greet me almost immediately after i entered with a smile and directed me to the bar to pick up my order which had just came out of the kitchen. I paid for it and left as easy as i came. The alligator po boy was amazing, first off i can never find alligator done right but this was great. The sauce it was served with wasn't the best at first taste but it complimented the sandwich well. Also the fries are my favorite style of fry so no complaints there. I got the seafood gumbo which I'm not sure if i care for. The seasoning and smell of it is perfection but I'm not sure if the taste backs up the hype. I will get it again and if you are not stopping by because they aren't busy don't worry about it, the freshness is there! Like them before they get too cool.
Update: seafood gumbo is a bit short on the seafood -

I love this place. Food is prepared fresh and hot. The fried crab claws are wonderful and not small like other seafood places. I will refer anyone who loves seafood to eat there. The seafood bags are tasty. I live the one with crab legs, shrimp, corn, sausage, and potatoes. Cajun style is the pick. They give you plenty of food to fill you up.

Let me just start by saying I was not at all a fan of this spot. I took my sister here for her birthday dinner because she loves seafood but this was honestly disappointing.
We had the appetizer of the popcorn shrimp and the fried crab claws. The popcorn shrimp tasted nothing like shrimp, it was heavily breaded which over took the taste of the shrimp if there was any in there. The crab claws were okay but without the tartar sauce it would have been just as bland as the rest of our meal.
I had the platter with onion rings, fried scallops, and fried shrimp and it was absolutely horrible. The onion rings were pretty good, but the scallops were nothing but a handful of grease that I refused to continue to eat. Don't get me started on the shrimp, as you can see pictured below the shrimp tasted like straight batter! There was no flavor and I had no idea if I was eating just the batter or the shrimp that's how bland everything tasted. My sister had the crawfish and it was pretty okay! My server was awesome other than that I will not be returning.
